Module 1 · Activity 3

How else could I say it?

VisitedIndividual learningGroup facilitation

Through a series of flashcards, you will explore everyday phrases that can unintentionally increase shame or frustration — and consider what you could say instead.

The aim is not to memorise a script for every situation. It is to develop a habit of asking:

“What might be preventing this person from understanding — and what can I do differently?”

When someone appears not to understand written or spoken information, small changes in the way we communicate can make a big difference.

These cards give you practical alternatives to phrases that may unintentionally create shame, pressure or confusion.

A card counts as explored once you have shown its alternative. This is not a score.

Instead of…

“I've already told you this.”

How could you say this differently?

Take a moment to think before revealing an alternative. Drafting is optional and is never marked.
